Kristian Haug is a singer songwriter based in Oslo, whose eclectic sound borrows elements of indie folk, pop and blues, creating a unique blend unlike any other current artist. Characterised by erudite lyrics, catchy melodies and idiosyncratic guitar work, Haug’s mission is to highlight the beauty of everyday life through his music. Taking inspiration from his own life experiences, his emotive songs resonate with the listener’s own experiences whilst illuminating the individual moments of life.

Losing oneself amongst the hectic mundanity of modern life is a position many can relate to, a situation that Kristian was firmly rooted in before inspiration struck. As the promises to call people back, forgotten errands and unaccomplished tasks stacked up dauntingly high, the realisation came that he had to do something to dig himself out of his predicament. ‘Once in a While’ ruminates on this, reminisces about the past and explores how it is that he came to such a situation. It delves into myriad of influences that led him astray, leading to him drowning beneath the surface of functionality. Despite dealing with seemingly heavy subject matter, ‘Once in a While’ maintains an upbeat spirit. It is thought provoking, insightful and light-hearted all at once. In Kristian’s own words, “‘Once In A While’. ..is like a romcom movie; it‘s upbeat, but still leaves you with a thought or two.” This is a movie you’re going to want to watch.
